General Dentistry

Treatments

Together, we can prevent gum disease and tooth decay from affecting your smile

General dentistry is the bedrock of our work at Guinea Court Dental Surgery. Regular check-ups and appointments with the hygienist will help to ensure a healthier mouth and a longer-lasting smile.

Dental Examinations

At Guinea Court Dental Surgery we believe in prevention before intervention.

It is always better to help our patients to prevent tooth and gum disease, than intervene to repair the damage once it has occurred.

During a dental examination, we fully assess not only your teeth and gums but also your jaws, cheeks mouth and face for any underlying problems.

Looking after smiles of all ages

Bringing your children to the dentist will give their teeth the very best chance at lasting a long time throughout their life. Great dental techniques at home, coupled with regular visits, are the best combination for healthy young teeth.

We also offer preventative treatments for children such as fluoride varnishes and fissure sealants.

During your appointment, we always:

  1. Listen to any concerns that you may have regarding your oral health
  2. Consult on any changes in your general medical health
  3. Closely check the health of your teeth, looking for any damage and tooth wear
  4. Check any restorative work that you’ve had, such as fillings or crowns
  5. Monitor the gums for any signs of gum disease
  6. Carry out any x-rays that we feel are necessary to check on the supporting bone structures and also to check for any tooth decay
  7. Offer advice on brushing techniques and interdental cleaning habits
  8. Provide any tips on diet and lifestyle changes if we believe your oral health is being impacted negatively
  9. Discuss any recommendations and options with you including associated costs and arrange any additional treatment if needed

Hygiene appointments

Healthy gums mean a healthy smile and the best way to look after your gums is through regular appointments with the hygienist. Your dental care routine at home does most of the hard work, but a hygienist can clean hard-to-reach areas and keep an eye on any signs of gum disease.

Restorative dentistry

Although prevention is better than intervention, restorative treatment is sometimes required to remedy dental problems. At Guinea Court Dental Surgery, we have the complete range of modern dental treatments at our disposal, and we will discuss the various treatment options with you – be they cosmetic fillings, crowns, bridges or inlays.

Replace, restore and repair any teeth with dental restorations.

The type of restoration we would use depends on the level of damage. To repair teeth affected by cavities or light damage, we use composite fillings that rebuild teeth so they look as good as new. We offer porcelain crowns to restore teeth that need a more complete fix. Bridges can replace missing teeth, using crowns on either side of the gap to support the replacement tooth.

If you have a damaged tooth and need to get it fixed, get in touch with our friendly team and we can help.

Cosmetic dentistry

Our cosmetic treatments make a real difference, improving both your smile and the way you feel. Having a smile that you’re proud of can really give a boost. We believe in perfecting your natural teeth, enhancing your natural beauty.

We provide effective, convenient and affordable cosmetic treatments. Whether you want to correct a gap in your front teeth or want to whiten your smile, we have the services that will get you on track for your dream look.

Our cosmetic treatments include:

  • Teeth whitening
  • White fillings
  • Orthodontics
  • Invisalign
  • Dental implants
  • Veneers
  • Composite bonding and contouring

Make the most of your natural smile

While many cosmetic dentists focus on covering up problems, we believe on improving the natural beauty that’s already there. Orthodontics and teeth whitening are far more beneficial to your overall health than a quick touch up with a few veneers. While orthodontics and whitening take longer than a single appointment, the benefits are far worth it and the results will last.
